Winter Hibernation.....for now!

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of boating, sun and sand
               danced in their heads.
And Grace in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap...

   Well not too long!
Look for our triumphed return to our journey
                                          in the New Year!

THE DREAM IS........WEAVING

THE DREADED HAUL OUT ARRIVED!

Although, we knew the day would come, it came unexpectedly!
After a wonderful two days in downtown Savannah, I decided to investigate into an overly active bilge pump. While buried full-body deep in the engine compartment yet again, I was quick to notice a constant dripping coming from the starboard shaft seal! Yikes!
After consultation with the team at Howard's Marine in Rockport we decided to make a stop the next morning, at the Searay Dealer in Thunderbolt, GA, close to where the Dream Weaver team were holed up.
Perfect we thought!
The next morning we made our way from downtown Savannah out to the suburb of Thunderbolt. Along the windy ride the Searay dealer contacted us to let us know that the man we needed for our job was at the Hinckley Dealership right across the Wilmington River from them. Great folks down here in the south.
After a horrendously difficult dockage we arrived safe and unscathed. Unlike the sailboat that broadsided us when he tried to dock. Thankfully, the crew at Hinckley were on their game and no damage to either boat was had. Amy the Dock Master did however, have several sore muscles the next day. Thanks Amy!
The Hinckley team was quick to respond to our mechanical issue as well......although with bad news!
We needed to be haul out!!

Our trip was over! A hard pill to swallow.
We contacted the Dream Weaver team to break the news. We decide to meet with the team for a last supper at their new favourite spot in Thunderbolt....Tubby's!

Although, we were all smiles in the pictures above, the goodbye was a tearful one for all. We may not have known our Dream Weaver's long, before we took off south, on what turned out to be an epic 8 week journey. We quickly became family. We now miss our family members terribly and wish them well on the remainder of their adventure. We can't wait to hook back up in the New Year to cross with our family to the Beehamas!

sadly being put to rest.....for now

Some took it hard...

Others were ready to see buddies and mommies

We'll all miss the
"not  Saving for Grace"

All of us are very thankful for our Hopetown friends, Jimmy and Barbie Wilson, who live here in Savannah. Jimmy met us at the Olde Pink House for a drink and like the Southern Gentleman he is, offered us a work truck and a cottage on Tybee Island. We are very grateful for their Southern hospitality.

Tybee Island was just the remedy we needed to wash the salty taste of defeat out of our mouths.
Our life philosophy proved itself yet again...in every negative there is always a positive waiting to expose itself. We've had a wonderful stay on Tybee and can't thank Jimmy & Barbie enough.
Sooooo the team thought how could we repay our friends?
With Grace's innate desire to cleanse everything we decide to express our thanks by a fall tidy up on 2nd Street!

That brings us to tonight!

OUR DREAM WILL LIVE ON

***We'll see you soon mates***

SAVANNAH GEORGIA

Savannah is the oldest city in the U.S. state
of
Georgia!
And also one of Joe and Grace's favourite destinations.

We tied up downtown Savannah at the Hyatt
to take in all the action!

Finally..an indoor pool for the girl!

AND...a gym...
15 minutes of cardio and a full body work-out!

The gym was much needed as we loaded up on candy :-)

mmmmm, Salt Water Taffy

Finally we hit the Olde Pink House for dinner.
The steak, Grace's fav, was delicious!!!

After our belly's were full Grace taught Jo the "cup" song :-)

The following morning we walked the downtown taking in all the beauty Savannah has to offer.
The restored building/churches were definitely something to see!

Great breaky joint

Guess who has a new hobby? ~ rainbow loom bracelets

...Next...our final destination...stay tuned!
