So close!
Well it's been awhile since our last post, much has transpired and much has changed, like it always does!
Presently, the original crew, plus one add on, Joanie Burns are all settled into Sailfish Marina on Singer Island, 56 miles form West End Bahamas!
Now to the recap of how we got here!
After a long lay up for "not Saving for Grace" in Thunderbolt, GA.
My cousin, Darin was talked into a utilitarian mission to move the boat on down the line.
With a slight delay for a final last part, we were able to finally take off 3 days after our arrival. The trip was a short one as we traveled roughly 5 miles to have our starboard engine give out! Ahhh Boats!
Back to the Marina!
New fuel filters and a gas treatment, we were off again!
It was a short run that brought us to Ft. McAllister GA
The Sun Worshiper enjoying some rays after some pretty cool traveling temps. This Marina actual had their water shut off to the docks in fear of a freeze, in Georgia!
The next morning we had our game faces on for some serious mileage! From Ft. McAllister we did Jekyll Island - St. Augustine - Ponce Inlet where we enjoyed the company and the helping hand from some back home locals Bruce & Jo Farrell and Glen & Karen Murdoch. Their help was much appreciated. Enjoy the pics from this leg of the journey.
on route to Jekyll Island
Jekyll Island
St Augustine - an old favourite spot of Captain Grace
Maybe a couple Pintskis!
Regroup from Pintskis!
More Pintskis!
Is this the Tavern! Who are these people!
Another Haul Out!
Our Man Gary at Inlet Harbour Marina, great guy great help
Thanks Gary!
A month later another leg begins!
After a long long travel day, part of the original team arrived at Inlet Harbour Marina, to the awaiting not Saving for Grace vessel.
The next leg of the trip began the very next morning. We did some more provisioning early and again our bud Bruce helped us out with some minor details and then we were off!
The Captain and the Dad did a new record voyage a 140 mile run after a brief over night'r in Titusville, which on a side note won the worst Marina award, in our eyes, on the journey! Nice folks but brutal dockage.
We arrived at Sailfish Marina, Lake Worth Inlet on Saturday March 1st. our destination spot to await the 56 mile cross to the Beeehamas!
And of course once again we were able to say Ahhhhh Boats! An electrical failure brought us a loss of our starboard engine in this weekend fun in sun destination which for what seems to be every Floridian and tourist within a 50 mile radius. We were able to lay the boat up nicely on the fuel dock amongst the high traffic and exceptionally strong tidal current.
Back into the engine compartment!!
Ahhhh Boats!
Verdict is two alternators and a battery charger....to start!
On a positive note the girls are here, the beer is cold and the sun is shining!
Keep you posted...
Awe, that looks hard to take! Lol!
